okay, so the jist of this place is that in 220BC the emperor of that time burried thousands of these life size statues shaped like all sorts of sodiers to protect him in his after-life. About 50 some years ago a farmer was out digging for a well and came upon these terracotta statues. They are STILL in the process of excavating them. This emperor had these things spread out strategically over acres around where his tomb would be, and now is. This place was amazing. Also amazing to think that this emperor spent his whole earthly life developing these things to protect him in his afterlife. Wow, what a waste. You'd probably have to be there to appreciate it. Don't worry family...we're bringing home a book for you to read all about it!
