DTC

There are lots of acronyms for families adopting from China.  There is LOI, LOA, PA, LID, DTC, TA, etc.  While some adoptive mommas can rattle off all of these acronyms faster than I can process what in the world they are talking about, what I do know is that today is a great day!  Today we are DTC!

DTC stands for Dossier To China.  Today, our dossier (the stack of documents and pictures that has taken the last 6 months to compile) is on an airplane destined for Beijing, China.  The Chinese government will first translate all of our documents and then officially log us in to their system.  Upon doing this they will discover that we have already been matched with a child and they will then go over our dossier to make sure that we are fit to adopt this sweet little boy.  And then in 2-3 months they should send us our LOA....which is our Letter of Acceptance. We will have a few more steps and a few more months to wait still after LOA.....but as for today, we are just so thankful to be DTC!!!!!

This is a good day.  :)
So thankful to our agency, Holt International, that has taken such good care of us.
